This article discusses the market trends of petrochemical industry in Taiwan, the changes of this industry, technology trends, and further explore the prospects of Taiwan's petrochemical industry. It is quite likely that crude oil price may be around US$ 60 per barrel in 2015, a slide of about 40% as compared to US$ 100 per barrel in 2014. Therefore, prices of petrochemical products are likely to slide along with the decline in oil price. If oil price remains in the ball park of US$ 60 per barrel all through 2015, the IEK of the ITRI predicts that the annual production output of the petrochemical industry of Taiwan in 2015 will be around NT$ 1.63 trillion. Owing to the lower cost of raw materials compared to 2014, those petrochemical companies in Taiwan will earn higher profit in 2015.
