The Cross-strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) was signed on June 29 at the fifth meeting between Chiang Pin-kung, chairman of Taiwan’s Straits Exchange Foundation and Chen Yunlin, chairman of Mainland China’s Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits and took effect on September 12.
