In second quarter, 2010, the output of Taiwan food industry is estimated to reach US$4.14 billion, rising by 2.9% compared with previous year, under the stimulation of soft drink, slaughtering and other foods. Other detailed industries with their growths over 5% include: tea manufacturing, processed vegetables, seasonings, granulated sugar, frozen & chilled vegetables, and dairy products. However, the outputs in grain husking and wine & liquor show a declination exceeding 5%. Other detailed industries with output declinations include beer, flour milling, processed meats, frozen & chilled meats.
