Taiwan's semiconductor industry is flourishing, while its sub-industries such as wafer foundry, back-end assembly and testing and IC design are among the best in the world. In 2015, the domestic semiconductor industry realized an output value of about NT $2.4 trillion dollars, but the semiconductor equipment recorded an output value of only NT $80.1 billion dollars.
