The domain of textile industry is very wide. The industries corresponding to the complete textile domain can be classified into six sectors: textile raw material industry, spinning industry, weaving industry, dyeing and finishing industry, apparel industry and non-apparel industry.
II、Industry review 2016
In 2016 Taiwan's overall textile industry output value reached NT$398.54 billion, marking a 5.9% negative growth of NT$25.1 billion compared to 2015.
III、Technology trends for new products
In recent years, TTRI continued to dedicate its research and development to key textile technologies. It has assisted Taiwan’s textile industry with the following main R & D directions including the development of high-performance fibers, research and development of the ionic liquid cellulose textile technology, smart material textiles and high-value textile – advanced functional fiber textiles, etc.
